Meet J.A. Hernandez, The Founder of FuturePlay and Creator of Duragon.

J.A. Hernandez, Born “Jesus Alberto Hernandez Perez,” was born in Punto Fijo, Falcon, Venezuela, on October 17, 2001, to parents Yanet Perez Sambrano(Miss Amazonia 1985 & Telenovela actress) and Ismael J. Hernandez, a Venezuelan petrochemical engineer, before emigrating to Calgary, Alberta, Canada, in 2006. He attended Notre Dame High School and went on to Graduate from the University of Calgary with a Professional Certificate in Visual Design. He is a Calgary-raised creative entrepreneur and the CEO of FuturePlay Media Publishing Co., where he bridges the gap between Western comic storytelling and the Japanese manga industry. Hernandez has established himself as a pioneer in the "Global Manga" movement, leveraging digital platforms to build international audiences for original IP.

As the creator and illustrator of the hit dark fantasy series Duragon, Hernandez utilizes a "digital-native" production strategy, documenting the manga creation process for a massive social media following. Under the FuturePlay banner, he focuses on high-fidelity serialization.
